ASSFN Research Fund
Fund Purpose: To support research initiatives in Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery
Officially founded in 1973, the American Society for Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery (ASSFN) is the leading professional organization dedicated to advancing the science and practice of stereotactic and functional neurosurgery.
For more than five decades, the Society has brought together clinicians, scientists, engineers, and trainees who share a common mission: improving the lives of patients through innovation, discovery, and excellence in patient care.
The field of stereotactic and functional neurosurgery has transformed the treatment of neurological disorders through advances in surgical techniques, neurotechnology, imaging, neuromodulation, and neuroscience research. Progress has been driven by generations of investigators whose discoveries have expanded treatment options for patients with movement disorders, epilepsy, pain, psychiatric disorders, and other neurological conditions.
Throughout its history, ASSFN has served as a catalyst for collaboration and innovation by fostering the exchange of ideas, supporting scientific inquiry, and promoting the translation of research discoveries into clinical practice. The Society’s members continue to lead groundbreaking work that advances our understanding of the brain and develops new therapies for patients worldwide.
The ASSFN Research Fund extends this longstanding commitment to innovation by providing resources to support research that advances the field of stereotactic and functional neurosurgery. Contributions to the fund will help support pilot studies, seed grants, trainee and early-career investigator research, multicenter collaborations, and other high-impact scientific initiatives that may not yet qualify for traditional sources of funding.
By investing in promising ideas at critical stages of development, the ASSFN Research Fund will help accelerate scientific discovery, foster the next generation of leaders in the field, and advance treatments that improve the lives of patients and families affected by neurological disease.
Together, we can help shape the future of stereotactic and functional neurosurgery through research, innovation, and a shared commitment to improving human health.
