Margie Shreve - JNSPG Development Fund
Fund Purpose: To create and/or enhance publishing opportunities and programs within the JNSPG.
Margie A. Shreve began her tenure with the Journal of Neurosurgery in 1989 as an editorial assistant to Thoralf M. Sundt, Jr., after he was elected Editor-in-Chief. Following his death in 1992, Margie moved the editorial office to Charlottesville to support Editor-in-Chief John Jane, Sr., and has worked with each subsequent editor: Neurosurgical Focus editors Martin Weiss and William Couldwell, and Journal of Neurosurgery Publishing Group (JNSPG) Editor-in-Chief James Rutka.
As the longest-serving staff member of the JNSPG, Margie has seen the transition of peer review tracking from a simple card file to electronic systems, the introduction of five new titles to the JNSPG catalog, and the expansion from print to online and now video media.
Throughout her 34 years of service, Margie guided and mentored numerous staff and Editorial Board members—and countless authors, peer reviewers, and Neurosurgical Focus topic editors—consistently delivering the highest level of service and assistance. A grounding force in the Journal of Neurosurgery‘s history and a proponent of its ever-evolving development in the future, Margie is a loyal and dedicated member of the staff whose retirement in April 2023 marks the end of an era.
In recognition of her leadership and commitment to the Journal of Neurosurgery Publishing Group, the Margie Shreve – JNSPG Development Fund was established to create and/or enhance publishing opportunities and programs within the JNSPG.
