Join us for the 3rd Annual Van Wagenen Hockey Tournament at the University of Minnesota!
Mark Your Calendars:
Saturday, January 24th is Hockey Day Minnesota—a statewide celebration of hockey! You’re invited to celebrate and enjoy the day’s festivities with the Van Wagenen Fellows the day prior to the tournament.
Tournament Day:
The tournament begins on Sunday, January 25th, with the puck dropping at 9:45 a.m. at the 3M Mariucci Rink and lasting until 1:45 p.m. Participants are responsible for bringing their own hockey gear. Additional details will be shared with those who confirm their attendance.
Participation Fee:
- $200 for practicing neurosurgeons
- $25 for residents, medical students, corporate partners, and non-neurosurgeon players

Supporting a Great Cause:
Net proceeds from the event will benefit the William P. Van Wagenen Fellowship through the Neurosurgery Research & Education Foundation (NREF), the philanthropic arm of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS). This fellowship provides neurosurgical residents with the opportunity to study abroad with flexibility for scientific development, free from the restrictions of many traditional research grants and fellowships.
