The Cushing Circle of Giving was established in 2008 to recognize individuals and institutions for their cumulative and planned giving to the NREF. This society pays tribute to Dr. Harvey William Cushing, a pioneer and father figure for neurosurgery.

Membership in the Cushing Circle is open to all donors who demonstrate a long-term commitment to advancing neurosurgery, and recognition begins with either a pledge or lifetime donations of $25,000 or more.

Donations can be made as a one-time gift or spread out over a period of time, and all donations made during your lifetime count toward membership in the Cushing Circle. Contributions can be directed to the fund – or funds – of your choice.

Cushing Circle members enjoy camaraderie among their fellow philanthropists and qualify for special recognition and other benefits linked to their giving level.

I joined the Cushing Circle in 2018. There were 129 individual members then. Today, I am happy to report that the Cushing Circle includes 200 individual and 46 institutional members representing more than $10 million in donations.
