Donor Advised Funds (DAF)
What is a Donor Advised Fund?
A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a charitable giving account that allows you to support the nonprofit organizations and causes that matter most to you. Donors contribute to a DAF through a sponsoring organization, receive any applicable tax benefits at the time of the contribution, and then recommend grants from the fund to qualified nonprofit organizations over time.
If you already have a donor-advised fund, recommending a grant to NREF is an easy and convenient way to support neurosurgical research, education, and other programs that advance the field.
DAF grants can support NREF’s greatest needs or be designated for an eligible NREF program or initiative.
Making a Gift Through your DAF
Each donor-advised fund sponsoring organization may have different procedures and requirements for recommending and distributing grants. Please consult your fund administrator with any questions about making a grant recommendation.
If you need additional information about NREF to provide to your fund administrator, please contact Courtney Shupryt, Senior Director of Development, at cshupryt@nref.org.
